Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme launched by the Telangana government:

Objective and Budget: The scheme aims to empower tribal farmers by providing solar-powered irrigation facilities, with a total outlay of ₹12,600 crore over five years (2025–2030).
Beneficiaries and Land Coverage: It targets 2.1 lakh Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers holding land under the Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) Act, covering approximately 6.69 lakh acres.
- 3.Irrigation Support: Eligible farmers will receive free solar-powered pump sets (5–7.5 HP ) for irrigation, with a unit cost of ₹6 lakh, ensuring 100% subsidy.
- 4.Agricultural Development: The scheme includes support for horticulture through drip irrigation, distribution of high-quality saplings, and promotion of high-value crops like avocado.
- Implementation Strategy: Multiple departments, including agriculture, energy, rural development, and forestry, will collaboratively execute the scheme. District-level project monitoring units will oversee progress.
Recent Developments: The scheme was officially launched on May 19, 2025, in Macharam village, Amrabad mandal, Nagarkurnool district. A pilot project covering 45 acres was initiated, benefiting 45 tribal farmers
